Team RadioShack’s Bontrager Performance Advantage

Cockpit
Team RadioShack will spend most days on Race Lite handlebars and Race XXX Lite carbon stems. The bar's shallow drop and virtual bend provide comfortable hand positions and easy access to their SRAM Red levers. On climbing days, Lance will switch to the Race XXX Lite carbon VR handlebars. The High Compression Molded carbon construction included in both the bar and stem provide Lance with a lightweight platform that dampens road vibration while reducing flex during out-of-seat climbing. The bars are then topped with the comfort and no-slip grip of Bontrager's Cork Tape. Lance recently switched to a 42cm handlebar and runs a 7° 120mm stem.
Chamois
When Lance Armstrong came out of retirement and started training for his second return to pro cycling, we gave him a pair of Bontrager bib shorts with our inForm RXL Chamois to try out. He'd been out of the sport for a few years, chamois design had changed substantially, and Bontrager now stood at the forefront of chamois technology and comfort. After just one ride on an inForm RXL Chamois, Lance was hooked. From then on, Lance's request was simple: whatever shorts he was riding—road, mountain, whatever—they had to have the inForm RXL chamois sewn in. That's why the official RadioShack team kit has a Bontrager inForm RXL Chamois—so Shack riders stay comfortable, no matter how long the day in the saddle might be. It's a chamois so good, Lance demands it.
Saddle
Bontrager is helping Team RadioShack find comfort during the season with inForm RXL saddles. The size specific curvature of the inForm saddle design ensures the perfect match to support their pelvic structure.
Wheels
The most important part of a bike, after the frame, are the wheels and Bontrager's have won more Grand Tours than any other wheel system. Team RadioShack will be riding on custom painted Aeolus 5.0 wheels that are hand assembled in Wisconsin, USA. They mate a carbon aero skin to an OCLV carbon rim to provide the perfect blend of low weight and wind defying aerodynamics. On climbing days Lance and Team RadioShack will switch to our Race XXX Lite wheels which allow for quick acceleration due to their super smooth Swiss carbon hubs, low spoke count and feathery light, proprietary OCLV carbon rims. On training days they will rely on the comfortable ride of our traditionally laced Classics wheels.
Hydration
Lance and Team RadioShack have access to a variety of Bontrager bottle cages. On most days the Race X Lite bottle cages will be mounted on Lance's bike due to their light 25 gram carbon construction and secure bottle hold.
Electronics
Team RadioShack's Madones will be equipped with Bontrager's integrated DuoTrap sensors allowing them to read speed and cadence from a single ANT+ compatible sensor. These will be paired with computers from both Bontrager and SRM.
