Aeolus 9.0 Fastest Wheels at Ironman World Championships

Chris Lieto sets fastest bike split at Kona Ironman World Championships on a pair of Aeolus 9.0 wheels.

Riding aboard a prototype Trek Speed Concept bike outfitted with Bontrager Aeolus 9.0 wheels, American Chris Lieto set the fastest bike split of 4:25:11 at the 2009 Kona Ironman World Championships. Coming out of the water 3.5 minutes behind the race leader, Chris had his work cut out for him. By mile 50 he had surged into the lead with a 6 minute gap to the field and put 12 minutes between himself and other race favorites. Chris held onto his lead until mile 22 of the marathon and finished in 2nd place with a time of 8:22:56.
